What smartphones are compatible with the app?

The free downloadable Let’s Explore app required to use your VR/AR Goggles and Holographic Explorer Cube is compatible with nearly all new and most relatively-new Apple (iOS) and Android smartphones.

Can I use the headset for other apps?

Our MEGA pack does not provide support to other VR games and applications, and we are not able to comment on other VR apps for your phone. Our headset was designed with our experiences in mind. We are, however, not restricting your phone which drives our headset from using any other 3rd party VR applications.

I’m having trouble seeing the images clearly in the VR/AR goggles, how can I adjust the image quality?

Please make sure the blue comfort mask is fully extended and that the plastic protective coverings have been removed from the goggles’ lenses.

Additionally please make sure the phone is placed in the middle of the front compartment. Finally, you can adjust the two optical axis buttons on the top of the goggles to make certain the image is focused clearly.

No, your VR/AR Goggles and Holographic Explorer Cube are all you need to continue your journey of discovery - we’ll e-mail you with future adventures as they become available.

What is the difference between virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR)?

Virtual Reality (VR) completely replaces your vision with an immersive experience that gives you the impression that you have been transported to a new environment. Augmented Reality (AR) layers new information and graphics onto your current view of the world.

Do I need a Let’s Explore Oceans holographic explorer cube to access all the VR and AR content?

Yes. To unlock the full slate of VR adventures and AR experiences you will need to purchase the complete Let’s Explore Oceans immersive mega pack that includes both the app-specific, Holographic Explorer Cube and VR/AR Goggles.

What is the difference between “phone mode” and “goggles mode” in the app?

You can access all the amazing content in either mode. For a truly immersive experience, wearing the VR/AR Goggles is preferred. However, you can also use a smartphone without the VR/AR Goggles to enjoy a less immersive version of Let’s Explore Oceans.

I can’t hear any sound or the sound is too low, is there a way to adjust the audio whilst viewing the experiences?

Firstly, please make sure your phone is not in “Silent Mode”.  You can then use your phone's volume controls to adjust the sound levels. There is no way to change the volume from the app itself.

How do I select experiences to play whilst wearing the VR/AR goggles?

Place the Holographic Explorer Cube in your field of view while wearing the VR/AR Goggles and rotate the menu to access the VR and AR experiences.


The target circle in the middle of the frame can be used to load the adventure you want to explore.

How do I access the VR control settings whilst wearing the VR/AR goggles?

Adjust your gaze to place the ‘Arrow Icon’ inside the ‘Circle Icon’ in the middle of your view. Once activated, the control settings will appear on the screen that allow you to fast-forward, rewind, pause, play and exit the experience.

How do I keep the images in the AR experiences from leaving the frame of view?

The AR content is triggered by the Holographic Explorer Cube. Hold it up and keep it in your frame of view to keep the AR content visible.

How do I take pictures in Oceanscape and where do the pictures get stored?

When using VR, press the “capacitive button” located on the top right of the goggles to take a picture. When using the non-VR mode, simply tap anywhere on the screen.

If you give Let’s Explore Oceans permission, your Oceanscape photos will be saved in your smartphone’s photo app.

What are those white arrows that appear in Oceanscape?

Aiming your gaze at the white arrows will teleport you to their location, allowing you to move around and explore the underwater environment of Oceanscape.

My cube doesn’t seem to work, how can I fix it?

It’s important that the Let’s Explore Oceans Holographic Explorer Cube and its markings are easily seen by your smartphone. Make sure you are using your cube in a well-lit location or you turn on “torch mode” from inside the app to access your smartphone’s flashlight.


If you stop seeing augmented reality content layered on top of your Let’s Explore Oceans cube it may be that you are blocking too much of the cube’s markings with your fingers. Try repositioning your hand around the cube to block less of the cube from the phone’s camera.
